First of all, thank you for this amazing plugin Rupert!!

Here is my question: Is it possible to invert the order the photos are shown in the gallery -newer first as flickr does? I am trying, but my php programming skills are painful.

Hi there, I’m really quite new at this and so would really appreciate some help.. Basically I can’t get the slickr gallery to work. It constantly displays a loading sign, whereas the links to the albums open up in a new blank window. Possibly to get some help here?

quik3r: unfortunately, no. It really would require hefty rewriting of a lot of code in two plugins. You’re welcome to try, and I’m sure you’ll come to the same conclusion.

I have a conflict between this software and TubePress. Once I install and run TubePress I get an error page instead of my Slickr gallery.

Any ideas?

Rupert for someone as skilled as yourself I would imagine this wouldn’t be that difficult, can you assist? It would appear to be a very desirable feature. I understand the logic after looking at slickr.php. Basically I would assume you would take the the code that you use to link back to the actual flickr gallery and wrap it in an anchor tag around the description. I do understand its a bit more complicated but would really appreciate a some help with this.

The scrollbar is likely your theme’s stylesheets conflicting with mine.

The hack you wish to do requires a fair amount of knowledge of php and xhtml, and you’d need to hack both slickr and lightbox.

Thanks for the fast reply Rupert. A few more questions for you. What is the purpose of the scroll bar that automatically comes up with the description? Can it be gotten rid of? Also is it possible (probably beyond my skills) to turn the description into a link back to the flickr page in which the image resides on? Thanks.

findthejake: there is a way, but it involves rewriting portions of the javascript and php code, which I don’t have time to do at the moment. If you are loading one gallery, it doesn’t really sound like Slickr is your best solution; it’s designed to present multiple albums efficiently.

quik3r: the CSS for the widget is inline CSS in the…. slickr_widget.php
The page not found issue will hopefully be resolved in the next version, which should be out soon.

mint: It sounds like you do not have the required libcurl, an essential element of a webserver needed by Slickr to fetch data.

nathaniel: Thanks for the kind words. I’ve noticed the lightbox issue for some time… grrr. I’ve got updates planned for that plugin. The good news is pretty much any lightbox plugin _should_ work.

I’ve implemented a fix for the Safari issue in Slickr, and am currently testing it at robingartnerphotography.com

I love this plug-in, looks sleek. It took a little hand coding because of Theme conflicts, but no problems otherwise...until I got TubePress today. Which I also love. After installing and running TubePress with no problems on my site I went back to the Slickr Gallery to find: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class pear in /usr/local/lib/php/PEAR.php on line 86 Help please. These two plugs are so sexy I dont know if I can do without either. Any help will do, I can get my hands dirty on this one. Here is my Photo Gallery
