Slickr Gallery plugin for WordPress in the works…

Hemingway-Flickr is soon to be end-of-lifed, and work on a new plugin called Slickr Gallery is well underway. Slickr Gallery is a more Ajaxy, more bandwidth-friendly, and more elegant than Hemingway-Flickr. It will be available as a public beta fairly soon.

It’s chugging along merrily on my MacBook Pro using the awesome MAMP. I’m currently working out some annoying CSS issues, and I’m fairly n00b-ish when it comes to CSS, so that may take a while. FYI, it also took me ages to get the AJAX working, as I’m not well versed in Javascript. In fact, I’m terrible at Javascript, but there’s such a wealth of information on programming languages on the net that it doesn’t really matter! Things take time instead of brains these days.
I’ve called it Slickr Gallery because “Slickr” has been taken as a name for a Windows screensaver. I don’t feel like renaming 8,000 variables to another prefix, so I’ll publicly call it “Slickr Gallery” and claim ignorance of the screensaver’s existence.
